Welcome

Our goal is to spread environmental awareness and animal welfare.  This site provides links to other sites full of information about topics under such categories.

We do not necessarily support Animal Rights Activists.  We want to separate some myths on both sides of the table.  A general awareness of the treatment of animals and the protection of the environment is sought, not the obliteration of all human movement.  The goal is for people to do simple things in every day life that makes the life of the world run a little easier.

Pygmy elephants, an endangered species found only on Borneo Island, are having their habbitat threatened by the local loggers and communities who find it perfect for their purposes.  Find the article here.  The WWF has been keeping a close eye on the species since 2005, discovering a decrease in population.

Hummer Vandalism
Written by GG
Wednesday, 04 July 2007

Recently, a group of "eco-friendly" people vandalised a man's hummer to keep the gas-guzzling machine off the roads (see the article at msnbc.com here ).  We would like to remind visiters of Be Animal Aware that this is not the kind of "eco-friendly" activities that we endorse.  This is sort of has the opposite effect to that of our goals.

This is parallel to anti-abortionists blowing up an abortion clinic.  Does this make them any better than the people who they think are doing a great wrong?  We would like to stress the peaceful approach to "eco-friendly" activities.  People and nature can coexists without so much strain, and that's a statement we wish to prove.  Maybe the Hummer industry will come up with some way to become more efficient, but we can convince them to do so without discrediting ourselves through defacement of property.

Spaying and neutering domestic animals is an important part of being a pet owner.  Keeping the stray and abandoned population down, it is a means to free animals from the torture of being homeless.  These surgeries also benefit the individuals' health.

Sorry For the Delay

Hello all.  Thank you for being so patient with our move to this new server.  We are rather enjoying the new site.

The reason this move is taking so long is that some code is different here than it was before.  It's not as simple as a copy and paste!

Thanks again, and enjoy browsing the site with what we have so far.
